Hi, I’m Susan,
My work is dedicated to guiding you back to yourself, to your center, so you're able to hear your Self clearly and live confidently from your truth without guilt or worry.
If you’re feeling stuck in cycling worries, thoughts and emotions and you keep repeating patterns in your life and relationships, these are all signs pointing towards your healing.
If you’ve tried to figure it out alone and nothing is changing, it might be time to try something else. Healing happens when you’re seen, heard and you learn how to connect more fully with yourself.
I know it can seem daunting to begin, I get it as I’ve been there too.
Through my own big life changes, significant losses, difficult relationships, disappointments, and physical challenges, I've learned that moving through, not around, difficult and painful experiences builds inner strength that supports you throughout your life no matter what shows up.
I continue to be fully engaged in my own healing and learning the latest in my field so I can bring the best to you.
I offer evidence based psychotherapy called Internal Family Systems that opens the door to healing in a collaborative way; you and I working together and you connecting with all the parts that make up who you are.
Let me show you how.
Are you ready to release the inner burdens and express who you are?
Let’s get started!
My Counseling Style:
Clients describe my counseling style to be warm, empathic and engaging.
My expertise is listening between and beneath the lines using my counseling skills and intuition. You won’t find me to be an “a-ha” therapist that listens and nods with little response. We’ll be in a conversational flow as we navigate your inner world together. In the places that seem dark, I can be a compassionate guide with a lantern of hope that can guide you gently home, to your Self.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I was in a corporate sales/marketing career that I truly enjoyed. I was successful in my business career because I listened intently, I supported and nurtured people’s voices in getting heard, and I was a calming positive presence in the midst of conflict filled business meetings. These attributes came along with me when I heard the call from my soul to change careers and become a therapist.
“You have such a calming, comforting presence. There's a sense that everything is going to be okay”. Client Comment
About me:
When I’m not in session you’ll me find connecting with friends, walking my dog, writing for my book, blog or newsletter, gardening, or dreaming up my next travel adventure. My guilty pleasures are watching BBC shows and filling up my phone with way too many photos of my cats, dog and flowers!
I volunteer for a cat rescue group, Pounce de Leon Cat Rescue at a Petco where I care, play and even walk the cats on a leash. My favorite part is when they get adopted by a loving human.
I’m grateful that I get to be a healing presence in the world. If I can support one person’s healing or wake them up to who they really are, it has a ripple affect on the lives of the people around them and I believe elevates the world.
