Not all moms are nurturing, supporting and protective.
Some mothers are critical, jealous, neglectful, abusive, self centered, depressed, helpless, or addicted. Some moms put their children in a parental role. Fathers do all of these too. All stemming from their unhealed wounds and traumas.
This can leave children scrambling to be resourceful when they’re in the midst of simply learning how the world works. This can leave an adult with feelings of overwhelm, anxiety, fear, self doubt, people pleasing, and perfectionism as they become strong to manage the world and care for themselves.
The manager part is not your true Self, it’s a part of you developed to keep you safe.
Now, it’s up to you to provide the nurturing to yourself. You may have to learn how and that’s ok. It’s possible.
If you resonate with this post, I see you and I know that healing is possible no matter what age or stage of life you’re in right now. Your healing is worth it. You’re worth it.
Find a way to care for yourself today; one nurturing act towards yourself can open the door to healing and freeing your soul to fly.
